DEBATING TRIALS FOR 1916

Preliminaries on Subject of Cabinet Representation in Congress.

NO WRITER ATTRIBUTED

The first set of trials for the Freshman debating teams which will take part in the Freshman triangular debate with Yale and Princeton on May 2, will be held in Harvard 5 this evening at 7 o'clock. The subject will be, "Resolved, That the members of the President's cabinet should have a voice and a seat in all discussions in both houses of Congress." Each candidate must be prepared with a five-minute speech, on either side of the question. As too few Freshmen have sent in their names as yet, all members of the class will be allowed to speak tonight whether they have reported before or not. About twenty men will probably be retained for the second trials in New Lecture Hall on Friday.

The judges will be: C. W. Chenoweth 2G., and M. L. Wallerstein 2L.
