Half of the matches for the University chess championship have been completed. The leading scores at present are: H. L. Perrin 1G., with 7 victories and 3 defeats; F. P. Beal, of Andover Theological Seminary, won 6 and lost 3: E. F. Lange '13, won 3 1-2 and lost 1.
The six leaders in the novice tournament on Wednesday will qualify for the final round starting at that time.
