HOLY COMMUNION THURSDAY

Service Reinstituted at Request of Students Will be Given Then.

Next Thursday, the day before Good Friday, a Communion Service for members of the University will be held in the College Chapel at 5 o'clock. A number of the Faculty have consented to help in the administration of the service, which will be conducted by the President of the Board of Preachers.

On Good Friday last year Communion was observed for the first time since voluntary attendance at Chapel was started in 1886. This was in response to an urgent request of over two hundred students who stated to President Lowell the need felt for such a service in the College Chapel. There are many in the University and many graduates who are anxious to see the Holy Communion become a recognized tradition in the College Chapel. The students have asked for the service. It rests with them whether it becomes an established custom at Harvard or not.
