The first of a series of conferences in the Fogg Art Museum will be held this afternoon at 3.30 o'clock, when Professor George H. Chase '96 will speak on Arretine pottery. The present exhibit in the Museum, the Grandhara sculpture, will be the subject of the next conference on Wednesday, March 26, when Mr. Langdon Warner '03 will speak. These conferences will be informal talks on the works of art in the Fogg Museum, and all students interested are urged to attend. The conferences are open to members of the University.
Exhibition of Turner's Works.
A loan exhibition of paintings and drawings by J. M. W. Turner will be opened at the Fogg Museum on Saturday. These pictures will remain on view for about two weeks.
The Museum has recently placed on exhibition a small but beautiful Turner oil sketch on paper, which is a temporary loan from Mr. William Emerson '95, of New York. The subject is a wood interior, and the difficulties are handled with rare skill by the master.
