On Sale at Memorial at Noon.--Support of Team Necessary.

Tickets for the University debate with Yale to be held in Sanders Theatre on Friday evening at 8 o'clock, go on sale at Memorial Hall at lunch today. The prices will be 50 cents for main floor seats, and 25 cents for balcony and gallery seats. No free seats will be issued to students as in former years. This departure from the custom of allowing each student a free seat is made in an attempt to pay the expenses of the debaters without making subscriptions necessary.

Of the twenty-two debates held with Yale, Harvard has won sixteen, and also ten of the eighteen held with Princeton. Last year the University team lost and their defeat was due in part to insufficient financial support by the student body. If the University wants to continue this splendid record, it must support its teams financially. At Yale, debating is supported by the college office, and at Princeton by two debating societies to which most of the students belong and pay annual dues. At Harvard it is true that the Coolidge Fund pays part of the expenses of the debaters, but it is not large enough to pay them wholly. Therefore there will be a sale of tickets and no canvassing as in former years.

Arrangements for the entertainment of the Yale debaters in Cambridge have been completed. The Harvard chapter of Delta Sigma Rho, an honorary debating fraternity, will entertain the rival teams, the judges, former University debaters, and the members of the Debating Council, at a banquet in the Union immediately after the debate
