DEBATING TEAM TRIALS

Candidates Urged to Report on February 12.--Important Subject.

NO WRITER ATTRIBUTED

The first trials for the University debating team will be held on Wednesday, February 12. At these trials all the candidates will be expected to have prepared five-minute speeches. All members of the University who wish to try for places on the team this spring are requested to send their names to M. Suravitz '13, at Perkins 11 immediately.

The subject for the debate this year is unusually interesting, inasmuch at it is concerned with a question very vital to the American people at present. The subject of the debate is, "Resolved, That the present attitude of the United States government in desiring to exempt our coastwise trade from Panama Canaltolls is justifiable."

The triangular debate will be held this year on March 14.
