ARCHITECTURAL COMPETITION

Architectural students of Harvard, Cornell, McGill, Montreal, Syracuse, the University of Michigan, the University of Pennsylvania, and the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, will enter the second annual interscholastic architectural competition which begins today and lasts five weeks. Last year the competition was directed by the Harvard School of Architecture, and this year will be under the management of the Architectural Department of the University of Pennsylvania.

Each individual competitor will file one sketch, the result of the first day's unaided work on a problem given by the general committee. Copies of these sketches will then be developed in the remaining time, with the aid of the instructors in the various schools. At the close of the competition, the ten best drawings from each school will be submitted to the judging committee, consisting of one representative from each of the competing schools. The award of prizes will be determined on the value of final drawing as a development of the first sketch. The competition will be divided into two classes, one for fourth and fifth year men, the other for men with less instruction. A prize of $90 is offered in the first class, and one of $60 in the second class.
