In the death of William E. Quinn, the Harvard track team has lost a trainer endowed with unusual personal athletic attainment and with the still rarer power of developing the abilities of others. Of his loyalty and devotion to Harvard, pathetic proof was given to those who watched the cheery grit with which he hobbled to the field even after he was already suffering severely from the disease which finally caused his death. In him, Harvard has lost a notable trainer and a faithful friend.
