SWIMMING TEAM DEFEATED

By Yale at the Carnegie Pool, New Haven, 48 to 5.--No Records Broken but Times Were Fast.

The University swimming team was defeated in the dual meet with Yale Saturday evening at the Carnegie pool, New Haven, by the score of 48 to 5. No records were broken, although the events were all very fast.

The freshman relay race was one of the best contested events of the evening and the Yale freshman won in the good time of 1 minute and 52 seconds.

The summary follows:

200-yard relay.--Won by Yale (Summers, Mayer, Marr, Howe). Time, 1 minute, 47 seconds.

50-yard swim.--Won by Mayer (Yale); second, Summers (Yale); third, F. B. Withington '15. Time 26 seconds.

100-yard swim.--Won by Marr (Yale); second, Summers (Yale); third, H. R. Hitchcock, Jr., '14. Time, 1 minute, 1 second.

220-yard swim.--Won by Roberts (Yale) second, Merwin (Yale); third, H. R. Hitchcock, Jr., '14. Time, 2 minutes, 44 2-5 seconds.

Freshman relay.--Won by Yale (Breereton, Symington, Goss, Hemming). Time, 1 minute, 52 seconds.

Fancy dive.--Won by McPhee (Yale) with 43 1-2 points; second, Hammer (Yale) with 39 points; third, M. J. Logan '15 with 25 1-2 points.

Distance plunge.--Won by Smith (Yale); second, Braden (Yale); third, J. Greenough '15. Distance, 66 feet.
