The Fogg Art Museum announces an exhibition of Gandhara sculpture, to be shown in the same room with the Oriental paintings during the next two weeks. The exhibition consists of fragments of sculpture made for the most part in the Punjab region of India. The work is done by the descendants of Greek sculptors brought by Alexander the Great to the Punjab at the time of his invasion. These artisans have been employed by Buddhist priests for hundreds of years to decorate temples and shrines in India. All of the work shows a Greek influence which the ages of Oriental schooling have failed to overcome.
