At the Lowell Institute at 8 o'clock this evening, Professor Ernst von Dobschutz will deliver the eighth and concluding lecture on "The Influence of the Bible on Civilization," the sub-topic for tonight being "The Bible is Once More the Book of Devotion (1850--)." In these lecture the influence of the Scriptures has been traced from the very beginnings of the early church, the first lecture being "The Bible Makes Itself Indispensable for the Church (until 325 A.D.)." Professor von Dobschutz has covered every era from the Christian Empire and Mediaeval Civilization down to the modern acceptance of the Bible as the book of devotion.
