A small fire was discovered in Weld about 4.45 o'clock yesterday morning by the janitor who immediately turned in an alarm. The fire was located in the basement of the south entry, and owing to the large amount of smoke which it produced, it was imposible to determine at first the extent of the configuration. The students in the south entry were awakened by firemen and advised to leave the building. The fire was confined to a heap of rubbish.
False Alarm Rung in Last Night.
Fires its in the Widener Library by a laborer last night to keep the plaster freshly poured out on the concrete floors from freezing attracted the attention of a considerable number of students and resulted in an alarm being rung in. The Fire Department responded promptly only to find the alarm false.
