In the annual Andover invitation cross-country meet, held yesterday afternoon at Andover, in which seven freshman and preparatory school teams competed, the Harvard 1917 team won fourth place, with a total of 89 points, being defeated for third place by a single point by the Dartmouth freshmen. The meet was won by the Colby freshmen, with Pennsylvania second. Wenz of Colby was the first man to finish; second and third places were taken by Colby and Worcester Academy respectively. Last year the Dartmouth freshmen won the meet.
The Harvard entries finished in the following order: H. S. Boyd, 8th; A. R. Bancroft, 14th; Captain R. S. Cook, 17th; C. J. North, 24th; W. P. Whitehouse, 26th. The team was accompanied by Coach R. H. Burrage '13 and Managers S. B. Ives and J. S. Love.
