Presidents Lowell left Cambridge last night for Burlington, Vermont, accompanied by Dean Hurlbut and Mr. William Phillips '03, to attend the meeting of the New England Association of Colleges and Preparatory Schools. He will, in addition to this, journey to New York to night, and tomorrow will attend a meeting of the advisory committee on military camps. at which plans for the coming summer will be discussed.
Theses camps were established last year by the War Department as centers for the military instruction of students. Young men are here trained to become officers of Volunteer regiment or of the National Reserve, and they also obtain an insight into army life procurable on other way. Last year two camps were established, one at Gettysburg, Pennsylvania, and one at Monterey, California. Arrangements will probably be made this summer for four situated in various parts of the United States.
