8 Takeaways From Harvard’s Task Force Reports
After going through the season with one big score against her and two score-less ties, Yale will play the next to last game of her schedule against Princeton today at New Haven. Both Yale and Princeton will put on the field stronger teams than those of last year and the contest should be hard and close. Of the Yale ends, Avery and Brann, the former is the stronger and has had more experience in intercollegiate football than Brann, who has played only a very little this season, owing to injuries. Tackles, Talbott and Warren, both played against Princeton last year and should prove in combination with Captain Kotcham, Pendleton and Martin a strong and experienced line. Dunn at fullback did not play last season and has only been eligible for two weeks but his experience of two years ago makes him one of Yale's strongest ground gainers. The other backfield men are Knowles, right halfback, Wilson, quarter, and Ainswerth, left halfback.
There were two injuries during the last week at Princeton which may weaken the team somewhat. Shea broke his ankle against Harvard last Saturday, while Semmens, the left guard, bruised his knee in practice on Tuesday and may not be able to play today. The exact line-up of the Tiger team is uncertain. Baker and Hammond are the probable choices for end with Phillips and Ballin in the tackle positions. Swart will probably play right guard and E. Trenkman centre, with the left guard undecided. Three backs are sure of their positions, namely, Glick, Baker, and Law, while there is doubt as to whether Streit of F. Trenkmann will play full-back.
