The University association football team was defeated at Princeton on Saturday by the score of 5 to 1. The Princeton team played a kick and rush game, relying upon individual brilliancy for their scores. The first half was very close ending 1 to 1, but in the second half, the University's defense collapsed allowing Princeton to score frequently. Several times in this period the team was in striking distance of the Princeton goal, but weak and inaccurate shooting by the forwards made the efforts to score futile. Captain Francke played the most consistent game for Harvard, while Jackson, at goal, excelled for Princeton. The summary: Goals--Princeton: Roberts, Bird 2, Beck, Boyle; Harvard: Foster. Referee--Smith. Time of halves--45 minutes. Score--Princeton 5, Harvard 1.
