YALE AND PRINCETON TEAMS

There have been a great many changes in the Yale line during the past week, owing to injuries to some of the players and to poor showing of others. On Tuesday the whole right side of the line was shaken up. Miller was tried at centre in the scrimmage, Cooney passing the ball in signal drill. Caldwell was put at right guard after being tried out at centre and tackle. He showed up very well in his latest position and will probably remain there. Madden played tackle while Hubbard was at the end, a position which at present is giving the coaches a great deal of trouble. Walter Camp was on the field on Tuesday directing some of the work with the assistance of Morris Ely, Burr Chamberlain and Arthur Howe, Captain Ketcham is again at left guard while Pumpelly, who returned to play only last week, wrenched his ankle and will be out of the game for a short time. Two other of Yale's most valuable players, Avery and Taylor, are also on the injured list, the former with a twisted knee and the latter with a badly cut head. Although Miller has been playing centre on the regulars recently in all probability Cooney will fill the position in the latter season games.

Princeton Shows Aggressiveness.

Under the spirited coaching of E. Hart, who captained the championship Princeton eleven of 1911, the Tiger team seems to have recovered from the slump which was evidenced by last Saturday's game. As a whole, the eleven, is showing more life and aggressiveness, the backs, Baker, Glick, and Streit, running off the plays with remarkable snap while the forwards showed more fight in charging than they have before this season. The coaches, Hart and Moffat '84, are the most recent addition to the coaching staff and are bending all their efforts towards perfecting the Princeton eleven for its battle against Harvard on November 8. Moffat is giving much of his attention to the kickers and is endeavoring at present to develop Law who, while a second string man, shows great promise as a kicker. There have been but few changes in the line-up. Philips is back in his old place at tackle, while Semmens, who has been playing for Philips, has been shifted to right guard, displacing Longstreth.
