Word has been received that the collection of Egyptian objects made by Professor Reisner in the interests of the Harvard University Museum have been partially destroyed on their way to America. The ship which was bringing them caught fire and was forced to return to a German port. It is not known to what extent the cargo was damaged, although it is feared it may prove great.

The collection consisted of prehistoric skeletons, pottery, flints, and a great series of Egyptian anatomical remains, which would be of the greatest value for museum purposes.
