To the Editors of the CRIMSON:

I wish to appeal through your columns for a greater support among the students of the University in the graded crew rowing. Men who have rowed and men who have not may avail themselves of the opportunity graded crew rowing affords of getting regular exercise, working under a competent coach, and ending the season in a race against a crew of the same calibre.

There is another advantage to be derived from graded fall rowing. Men are developed then that did not develop in their Freshman year into Varsity material. The fall work at the Weld leads some men into the Varsity boats in the spring, and many men into the winning class crew that will meet Yale's winning class crew.

There are not enough candidates for coxswains from the Freshman class. There is an excellent opportunity for anyone to secure a place whether possessing previous experience or not. Candidates should report at the Newell boat house today at 3.30. Q. REYNGLDS '14.
