Professor Jean Beck, of the University of Illinois, will deliver the first of a series of five lectures, at the invitation of the French and German Departments and the Cercle Francais, in the lecture room of the Fogg Museum this afternoon at 4.30 o'clock.
Four of these lectures will be given in French and one in German, and they will be accompanied with musical illustrations. The topic for this afternoon is "Chansons italiennes et francaises du XIVe et du XV siecle." The lecture will be open to the public.
The remaining lectures of the series will be given in the Fogg Museum tomorrow afternoon, and Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday afternoons.
