At the organization meeting of an Undergraduates' Economics Society held last evening, Dr. E. E. Day, of the Department of Economics, spoke on the advantages of a society of this sort. He pointed out the wide divergence of opinion on economic question, which a stu- dent necessarily encounters in the University and the consequent necessity for a discussion of these opinions. The society would also aid students in formulating intelligent opinions on current political problems, such as the banking reform and the tariff revision. In closing Dr. Day emphasized the need of hard, conscientious work by every member of the society.

F. H. Evans uC. was elected temporary chairman of the organization with the power to appoint a committee of four to draw up a constitution, which will be submitted for discussion and ratification at a subsequent meeting of the society
