Appointed to Lecture in Anthropology During Second Half-Year.

Professor Franz Boas of Columbia University was appointed Lecturer in Anthropology for the second half-year at a meeting of the President and Fellows of the University held Yesterday. Professor Boas is generally recognized as an authority on anthropology and ethnology, having made a special study of the Eskimo and Indian tribes of the north. His research work and discoveries, of a recent date, concerning the immigrants of this country have also brought him before the public lately. He is a member of a great many scientific societies here and in Europe and has held chairs at the University of Berlin, Clark, and Columbia.
