Rev. Francis Greenwood Peabody '69, D.D., of Cambridge, will preach in Appleton Chapel tomorrow morning at 11 o'clock. Dr. Peabody was the first chairman of the Board of Preachers of the University under the present arrangement, which was inaugurated in 1886. At that time the attendance of students at all religious services of the University was made voluntary by vote of the President and Fellows and the Overseers. The success of the arrangement then entered upon was largely due to the devoted and tactful administration of Dr. Peabody. At the end of the present half-year he resigns his active work as a teacher in the University in the Department of Social Ethics.
