FRESHMEN JOINED SQUAD

Fall practice for the University and Freshman baseball squads was held on Soldiers Field yesterday afternoon. Four teams were picked and two regular practice games were played.

The work of the afternoon began with the usual fielding practice, special attention being given the infield candidates. After a half-hour's drill in the elementary departments of the game, the men were divided into four teams, playing on both the University and Freshman diamonds, University men and Freshman practicing together. Five innings of ragged play satisfied the coaches, and then R. B. Frye '15, last year's Freshman pitcher, was put in the box. Coach Sexton and Captain Wingate picked as good a team as could be made up from the material at hand and several more innings were played. Frye pitched well for this stage of the season, holding his opponents to a no-run score.

Fall practice will be held today at 2 o'clock and will continue as long as the weather permits.
