OPENING OF DINING HALLS

Foxcroft, in Place of Randall, and Memorial to Serve Meals Monday.

NO WRITER ATTRIBUTED

The University dining halls will open for business on Monday morning for breakfast. All students of the University and all officers of the University appointed by the Corporation are eligible to membership.

Randall Hall will not be used as a dining hall this year, as it is necessary to use it for storing the books which are being removed from Gore Hall. Consequently Foxcroft House, the second building beyond the New Lecture Hall on Oxford street will have to be substituted. Foxcroft was used by the Dining Association before Randall Hall was built. The business of both halls will be transacted from the Memorial Hall office in the northwest corner of Memorial Hall. The same management and the same meal hours and plan will obtain for Foxcroft as formerly were in effect in Randall except that the membership must be limited to 400 because of the fact that it is impossible to accommodate more than that number.

Dining Hall Regulations and Changes.

Students of the University who have filed a $400 bond with the Bursar may have their board bills charged on their term bills. The Dining Council recommends very strongly that students pursue this course. It allows them to make but two payments for their board during the entire year, whereas students who have not filed a bond are required to pay in advance and must make a deposit with the Bursar for this purpose. At Memorial Hall the membership fee is $5.00 and at Foxcroft House $3.00. The price of board at Memorial is $5.25 a week. The prices of extras are indicated on the bills of fare. The charges for single meals are 30 cents for breakfast, 35 cents for lunch, and 50 cents for dinner. The members of Memorial Hall are organized so far as possible in club tables, which are assigned upon the application of members wishing to eat together. Tables of different sizes are provided to meet; as nearly as possible, the needs of different sized clubs; but the management reserves the right to fix from time to time for each table the maximum and minimum number of persons assigned to it. In case a club fails to bring its membership up to the minimum number fixed for its table, it may be assigned to a smaller table, or additional members may be added at the discretion of the management. Hours for Meals. The hours for meals at Memorial are as follows: For week-days: Breakfast,  7.15 to 9.15 Lunch,  12 to 1.30 Dinner,  5.30 to 7.15 For Sundays and Holidays: Breakfast,  8 to 10 Lunch,  12.30 to 1.45 Dinner,  5.30 to 6.50
