WINGATE ELECTED CAPTAIN

Last Year's Freshman Captain Chosen to Lead University Baseball Team for 1913.

Dana Joseph Paine Wingate '14 of Winchester was elected captain of the University baseball team at a meeting held immediately after the game with Yale yesterday afternoon.

Wingate prepared for College at Exeter where he played on the team for three years and was captain in his Senior year. Last season he played third base and was captain of the 1914 team and distinguished himself by tieing the score with the Yale Freshmen in the ninth inning when the score was 2 to 1 in Yale's favor.

This season he has alternated with Gibson and Desha at third base and shortstop on the University team and has played in every game. He is an exceptionally brilliant fielder and a consistent hitter.
