Harvard Training Quarters, Red Top, New London, Conn., June 9, 1912.-All the crews were given light work yesterday morning, paddling slowly to the Navy Yard and back. The University crew showed marked improvement in rhythm as Coach Wray took particular care to make the men follow the stroke exactly, with the result that good proportions were secured. The boat also ran out well between the strokes.

In the afternoon the two eights again paddled to the Navy Yard and on the return trip were given a half-mile brush. The Freshmen stole half a length at the start, but were not called back. The 1915 men rowed in splendid form, and the University eight had difficulty in overhauling them. At the finish the University boat was a quarter of a length in the lead.

Today the University squad was taken to Ocean Beach, near New London, and after a swim returned to the Pequot Casino for lunch.

Among the visitors at the training quarters on Saturday were F. L. Higginson '00, and J. Richardson '08, former crew captains.
