The Freshman second crew defeated the Middlesex eight-oared crew over the half-mile course up-stream above the University boathouse yesterday afternoon, winning by a scant half-length. The crews rowed in the following order:

Freshman second crew.--Stroke, Lothrop; 7, Fuller; 6, Withington; 5, Duer; 4, Weatherhead; 3, Hutchins; 2, Hall; bow, Paine; cox., Munro.

Middlesex eight-oared crew.--Stroke, Wood; 7, Eaton; 6, Mellen; 5, Morss; 4, Howard; 3, Lee; 2, Ricketson; bow, Winsor; cox., Davis.
