COMPETITION FOR FRESHMAN TEAM WILL START TODAY AT WOODLAND.

The results of the matches played in the trials for the University gold team yesterday afternoon were as follows: C. E. Miller '14 defeated A. J. Jaretzki '13, 8 up and 7 to play; P. W. Dunbar '12 defeated J. G. McNeil '13, 2 up and 1 to play. F. C. Baker '12 will play J. G. McNeil '13 at Oakley this afternoon as soon after 2 o'clock as possible.

Trials for Freshman Team.

Trials for the Freshman golf team will begin at the Woodland Golf Club, West Newton, this afternoon at 2 o'clock. Candidates should take Wellesley and Natick car from Newton. The following matches will be played: E. P. Allis vs. A. Fisher; S. P. Griffitts vs. B. Nichols; F. S. Bloom vs. M. J. Logan; C. F. Ilsley vs. R. B. Southgate; R. M. Baker, Jr., vs. E. O. Handy; H. K. Caner, Jr., vs. G. C. Ludlow.
