Dr. J.L. Levy to Speak in series on Representative Men of Israel.

Dr. J.L. Levy, of Pittsburgh, Pa., will give a lecture on "Representative Men of Israel, IV, Jehudah Halevi, the Poet," under the auspices of the Menorah Society in Room J, Emerson Hall, this evening at 8 o'clock. The lecture will be open to the public.

Dr. Levy is well known as a lecturer both in this country and in Europe. He was born in England and graduated with honors from the University of London in 1884. He belongs to the radical wing of the Jewish Church and was ordained rabbi in 1885. Since coming to this country in 1889, he has held pastorates in Sacramento, Cal., in Philadelphia, Pa., and since 1901 in Pittsburgh, Pa. Besides being a trustee of the Hebrew Union College, in Cincinnati, O., he is a member of the Tuberculosis League and a member of a number of peace societies. He has published several volumes of sermons, as well as other books on religious subjects.
