SPRING FOOTBALL PRACTICE

About 40 Men Reported at First Session.--Only Light Work Given.

NO WRITER ATTRIBUTED

About 40 men, almost twice as many as last year, reported to Captain Wendell and Coach Haughton for the first spring football practice on Soldiers Field, yesterday afternoon.

The men were first divided into small groups and given individual coaching in their various positions, which was followed by falling on the ball and passing. The work for the remainder of the week will be very light and is intended chiefly to get the men in condition for the heavier work to come. Practice will begin promptly each day at 4 o'clock, instead of 3 o'clock as was announced, and will last until the recess as in former years.
