SEVERAL SHIFTS IN CREWS

THREE MEN RETURNED TO VARSITY EIGHT YESTERDAY AFTERNOON.

NO WRITER ATTRIBUTED

All the University and Freshman crews were on the river yesterday afternoon. Balch, L. Curtis and Metcalf, who have been out with injuries for several days have returned, Balch resuming his former place at bow in the first boat where Wiggins, a graduate, has been rowing temporarily. Metcalf displaced Mills at 5. L. Curtis went into the second boat at 7, and Rogers, who has been rowing at 7 in the second boat, moved up to 3, displacing Walker, who was dropped to the third crew.

There were no changes in the orders of the Freshman crews, except that Murphy was coxswain of the second crew, because of Ilsley's illness.

Class Rowing.

Only 36 men reported for class rowing at the Weld Boat Club yesterday afternoon. Two Sophomore eights, one Junior eight, and a mixed boat composed of Seniors and Juniors were sent out. More candidates are expected to report today at 3.30 o'clock.
