ANNUAL CHESS TOURNAMENT

Championship and Novice Matches Begin Tomorrow.--Cups for Winners.

NO WRITER ATTRIBUTED

The annual championship and novice chess tournaments under the auspices of the Chess Club will begin tomorrow.

The championship tournament is open to all men who have played on the University team or are approved by the executive committee of the club. No entrance fee is charged. The names of those men entitled to compete will be posted today in Grays 19 and the matches will start tomorrow. The winner will receive a silver cup and will have his name inscribed upon the Trophy Table.

Members of the University who have not played on the University team or won a previous tournament are eligible to the novice tournament. Owing to the small number of men who have entered, the entries will be reopened in Grays 19 between 4 and 6 o'clock today. The fee is 25 cents to members of the Chess Club, and 50 cents to non-members. Lists of sections will be posted tomorrow morning. Each section will consist of a round robin and three men from each will qualify. Four prizes will be awarded, the winner receiving a silver cup.
