Pres. Lowell at Engineering Dinner

President Lowell spoke at the annual joint dinner of the Association of Harvard Engineers and the Harvard Engineering Society held in the Union last Saturday evening.

President Lowell described the change that is being made in the organization of the Graduate Schools of Engineering, Architecture, and Forestry, and of the necessity for separate faculties for every school. He said that a college training not only helped a man to solve problems, but also helped him to find problems to solve.

At the annual meeting of the Association of Harvard Engineers held before the dinner, the following officers were elected: president, B. B. Thayer '85, of New York City; vice-presidents, Franklin Remington '87, of New York City, Professor G. F. Swain of Harvard University, and C. M. Saville '89, of Hartford, Conn.; secretary, J. R. Nichols '06, of Harvard University; treasurer, F. L. Kennedy '92 of Harvard University; members of the council for three years, J. F. Vaughan '95, of Boston and Charles Gilman '04, of New York City.
