Will Deliver First of Lectures on "Life and Letters at Athens" Under Lane Foundation.

Paul Shorey '78, Ph.D., LL.D., professor of Greek at the University of Chicago will deliver the first of the Lane series of six lectures on "Life and Letters at Athens" in Emerson D this evening at 8 o'clock. The lecture will be on "The Age of Pericles," and will be open to the public.

Professor Shorey is pre-eminently the most brilliant of the American Hellenists of his generation. He is a profound student of Plato and has written several remarkable books, among others "On Plato's Theory of Ideas," "The Idea of Good in Plato's Republic," and "The Unity of Plato's Thought."
