The swimming team defeated the Waltham Swimming Club team at Waltham last night in an informal meet by the score of 33 to 27. All the events were closely contested with the exception of the 220-yard dash which was won by H. R. Hitchcock '14 with little effort in 3 minutes and 19 seconds. Hitchcock also won the 50-yard dash in 26 seconds and made the highest individual score of the meet. D. Lawson '13 did remarkably well in his event, winning the distance plunge with a dive of 56 feet, Downes showed up well for Waltham, getting second in the distance plunge and third in the 100-yard dash.
The first relay team defeated the Waltham first team but were disqualified because D. R. Sigourney '15 failed to touch the side of the tank on making one of his turns. The University men were far ahead at the finish.

First relay race.--Won by Waltham on a disqualification. Time, 1m., 43s. The Harvard team was composed of H. R. Hitchcock '14, M. J. Logan '15, E. A. Starbuck '14, and D. R. Sigourney '15.
Second relay race.--Won by Harvard. (W. J. Ball '13, E. S. Munro '15, R. S. Parker '12, F. B. Withington '15). Time, 1m., 49 2-5s.
50-yard dash.--Won by H. R. Hitchcock '14; second, Brigham (W.); third, Mills (W.). Time 26s.
Distance plunge.--Won by D. Lawson '13; second, Downes (W.); third, W. J. Ball '13. Distance, 56 feet.
220-yard dash.--Won by H. R. Hitchcock '14; second, Barnes (W.); third, C. F. Brookes '13. Time, 3m., 19s.
Fancy diving.--Won by Ryan (W.); second, G. Bettle '14; third, Bendlebury (W.).
100-yard dash.--Won by D. R. Sigourney '15; second, E. A. Starbuck '14; third, Downes (W.). Time 1m., 11 2-5s.
