Gifts Received by Fogg Museum

The Fogg Museum has recently received as a gift from Paul J. Sachs '00, a series of etchings by Herman A. Webster and of lithographs by Pennell. The Websters are fine and brilliant impressions. They show the influence of Meryon, whose etchings, seen by Webster in Paris, inspired his first work. These prints, together with a former gift from Mr. Sachs, make the collection of Webster's etchings at the Fogg Museum complete to date. The Pennells are interesting as giving an impression of the immense size and power of the city of New York. Pennell has had the daring to give expression to impressions of the gigantic.
