BRILLIANT JUNIOR DANCE

Large Gathering Enjoyed Evening in Splendidly Decorated Union.--Full List of Patronesses.

NO WRITER ATTRIBUTED

The Junior class gave the seventh annual Junior Dance in the Union last evening and it proved a great success. There were in all 350 persons present, the guests beginning to arrive at about 8.30 o'clock. The dances commenced at 9 o'clock, the first 12 taking until midnight, when supper was served.

The Living Room, where the dances were held was not decorated. The receiving party stood in the southwest corner of the Living Room and opposite, in the balcony, Woodbridge's Orchestra was placed. The boxes were located in the entrance hall, Periodical Room, and Dining Room, and were attractively furnished with morris chairs, sofas, pillows, and rugs. The partitions between them were simply screens of potted palms and ferns. The decorations in these three rooms were chiefly of smilax and laurel which were hung in long streamers from the centre of the ceilings. Japanese lanterns with electric bulbs to light them were attached at short intervals along the streamers and gave a very pretty garden effect. Supper was served from a table at the north end of the Dining Room.

The following acted as patronesses for the dance: Mrs. Oliver Ames, 2nd, Mrs. L. F. Bigelow, Mrs. W. R. Castle, Jr., Mrs. H. C. Everett, Mrs. A. W. Gardner, Mrs. A. M. Goodale, Mrs. E. E. Hardy, Mrs. W. M. V. Hoffman, Mrs. A. L. Lowell, Mrs. John Lowell, Mrs. G. von L. Meyer, Mrs. P. L. Saltonstall, Mrs. H. J. Smith, Mrs. E. B. Stratton, Mrs. J. G. Thorp, Mrs. Walter Tufts, Mrs. S. D. Warren, Mrs. F. T. Wendell, Mrs. R. D. Weston, Mrs. George Whitelock.

The committee was composed of the following from the Junior class: A. M. Goodale, chairman, R. W. Bennett, D. H. Bigelow, J. A. Donovan, H. C. Everett, Jr., W. T. Fisher, E. C. Hardy, G. von L. Meyer, Jr., J. J. Minot, G. H. Roosevelt, S. M. Seymour, T. M. Spelman, 2nd, G. F. Stratton, W. Tufts, Jr., W. M. E. Whitelock.
