ST. FRANCIS XAVIER BEATEN

UNIVERSITY TEAM WON BY INDIVIDUAL BRILLIANCY. FINAL SCORE 7 TO 2.

The University hockey team had little difficulty in defeating the St. Francis Xavier seven in the Arena last evening, by the score of 7 to 2.

The game was characterized by interesting and fairly fast playing, but team-work was noticeably lacking.

The University team showed marked improvement in taking the puck out of the corners and the following back by the centre men was good although the wings were slow in this respect. Palmer who played in Sortwell's place at left wing was inclined to be either just ahead of, or just behind the play, but in the second half showed better judgement and more dash. Huntington displayed his usual excellent all-round form, being the mainstay of the attack and aiding the defence materially. Duncan also played a strong game working particularly well with Huntington in taking the puck down the rink.

The defence was reliable as usual Blackall showed ability in aiding the wings in the corners and in carrying the puck down the ice, while Gardner made several brilliant stops.

The summary: HARVARD.  ST. FRANCIS. Palmer, l.e.  r.e., Sears Duncan, l.c.  r.c., Reardon Huntington, r.c.  l.c., McDonald Pierce, Reeves, r.e.  l.e., Dwyer Blackall, c.p.  c.p., Fraser Willetts, Houston, p.  p., Mclsaac Gardner, g.  g., Cribbs
