University Squad Played for the Greater Part Slow and Listless Hockey.

Teams A and B of the University hockey squad reported for practice at the Arena yesterday. After the usual preliminaries, a 45-minute scrimmage was held with the B. A. A. team, in which all the men present were given a chance to play. The University was defeated, 3 to 1.

At no time during the afternoon did the University men display form approaching that of their opponents. The defense of both teams, however, was hard to penetrate, and most of the tries at goals had to be made from a distance. The University was particularly weak in handling the puck and in team-play. These two factors caused loss of speed, and gave the whole practice a listless appearance. Marked improvement, however, has been shown in following back. Hopkins scored the team's only goal from a scrimmage
