In the official ranking of the United States Lawn Tennis Association for the year 1912, R. N. Williams '16, of Philadelphia, Pa., is placed in second position. M. E. McLaughlin, of San Francisco, Cal., the present national champion, heads the list, followed by R. N. Williams '16, of Philadelphia, Pa.; W. F. Johnson, Oynwood, Pa.; W. J. Clothier, Wynnewood, Pa.; N. W. Niles '10, Boston; T. C. Bundy, Los Angeles, Cal.; K. H. Behr, New York, N. Y.; R. D. Little, New York, N. Y.; G. P. Gardner '10, Boston; G. F. Touchard, New York, N. Y.

This ranking places three Harvard men within the first ten, one second, one fifth, and another ninth. F. J. Sulloway '05, of Boston, is also placed in Class 1 and W. M. Washburn '15, of New York, N. Y., in Class 2.
