HOCKEY TEAM WON DECISIVELY

B. A. A. TEAM WENT DOWN TO 6 TO 2 DEFEAT IN FAST SCRIMMAGE YESTERDAY.

In a well played 30-minute scrimmage at the Arena yesterday afternoon, the University hockey team defeated the B. A. A. by the decisive score of 5 to 2. Two goals for the University were made with in the first minute of play, coming as the result of fast rushes and passes from behind the goal to Hopkins, who caged both of them. A short while afterwards, Hopkins made a third goal on a long shot.

Until substitutions began to be made, the University kept the puck well out of their own territory, and, except for occasional flashes of speed by the B. A. A., fairly outplayed their opponents. Later on, however, the play became more even, and centered nearer the University's goal. In the first part of the scrimmage, scores were prevented by the speed of the forwards, in the latter part by the excellence of the defense. The final two goals for the University were made by Phillips and Hanson.

Captain Gardner was on the ice yesterday, but did not go into the scrimmage.
