SCRIMMAGE WITH SECOND

Freshman Regulars and Substitutes Lined Up Against Scrubs.

NO WRITER ATTRIBUTED

The Freshman football squad proved too strong for the second team men in a half-hour scrimmage yesterday afternoon. After practice in catching and running down under punts, the regulars and substitutes drilled for a short time on signals, and then in the absence of Squad B, lined up against the second team. Running a defective kick-off by the Second well past the centre line, the regulars gained by rushes and end runs, until R. Curtis took the ball across for the only touchdown. Gilman kicked the goal.

Later the Freshman substitutes were sent in and succeeded in making first down only twice. They were unable to score.

The squad is now slightly the worse for its game last Saturday but with one exception should be in top form for the Worcester game. Lyman and Rollins were given a rest yesterday. McKinlock is sick at the Infirmary and will not play Saturday, Whitney taking his place at left half back.
