MEDFORD HIGH DEFEATED

Second Cross-Country Team Won by Score of 22 to 41.--Freshman Trials.

The second University cross country team defeated Medford High School by the 22 of 32 to 41 over a 3 1-4 mile course at Chestnut Hill yesterday afternoon. S. Nichols '13 led throughout the race, finishing in the time of 18 minutes, 19 1-5 seconds. E. Mitchell, of Medford was second, and E. Backup '15, third. The other men on the University team to score were G. Whitehead '15, B. A. Edwards '14, and N. L. Torrey '15, finishing in fifth, sixth, and seventh places respectively.

Freshman Trials Yesterday.

As a result of the Freshman time trials also held yesterday afternoon, the following seven men will run at the Andover invitation meet on Friday: W. J. Bingham, W. R. Bullard, F. R. Devereux, K. E. Fuller, W. W. Kent, G. Lamont, E. McC. Peters. They will be accompanied by Trainer Caples, and managers F. P. Clement, Jr., and E. Cunningham.
