The University association football team had little difficulty in defeating Andover yesterday by the score of 5 to 1. Great improvement was shown by the team over the playing of last week. Andover's only score came in the first half and at the end of the half the score stood Harvard 3, Andover 1, Needham having scored all three goals for the University. Good team-work by the forwards was responsible for these scores.
In the second half several shifts were made in the University line-up and two more goals were made, one by S. Hopkins who had replaced Kimball at outside right and the other by Needham.
Needham played a brilliant offensive game, while Barron was the most effective player on the defence.
The University lined up as follows: g., Nichols; r.b., Hudner, Barron; l.b., Rushmore; r.h.b., Grant; c.h.b., Barron, Parsons; l.h.b., Weston; r.o.f., Kimball, S. Hopkins; r.i.f., Needham; c.f., Carnochan; l.i.f., F. Hopkins, Devereux; l.o.f., West.
