BROWN SECONDS DEFEATED

Drop-Kick Only Score in Game Spoiled by Fumbles.--Brown Had Only One Chance to Score.

The University second team defeated the Brown second team on Soldiers Field yesterday afternoon by the score of 3 to 0. Temple scored the goal from a difficult angle. Due to the extremely poor condition of the field the game was very ragged, both teams fumbling continually. Only once did Brown threaten the Harvard goal-line. After a series of line plunges and a successful forward pass, Brown had the ball on the Harvard 8-yard line where they were held for downs. The most striking feature of the game was the speed of the Brown backfield. For Harvard Atkinson, Parker and Spang played a good game, the latter making some long end runs. Casey starred for Brown, often smashing through the Harvard line for gains of 5 yards. Captain Webb of Brown pulled a tendon in the first quarter and had to be taken out.

The teams lined up as follows: HARVARD SECOND.  BROWN SECOND> Parker, Bright, l.e.  r.e., McNiel Reynolds, Sigourney, l.t.  r.t., Sims Underwood, Priest, l.g.  r.g., Carr Stambaugh, c.  c.) West Cable, r.g.  l.g., Murphy Atkinson, r.t.  l.t., Maxwell, Mathauson Sullivan, r.e.  l.e., Ormsbee Spang, Swigert, q.b.  q.b., Webb, Wirtner Callander, r.h.b.  l.h.b., Casey Temple, Steele, l.h.b.  r.h.b., Andrews Gibson, Stanton, f.b.  f.b., Donahue
