In a very fast game on Soldiers Field yesterday afternoon the University association football team was defeated, 4 to 3, by the Greystone Association Football Club, of Greystone, R. I.
Greystone scored first soon after play began, and kept the ball in Harvard territory for some time, but before the end of the first period the University team tied the score through the good work of the forwards, Jennings making the tally.
The University team scored again early in the second half, when Needham sent the ball through the posts. The visitors then made two more goals, and later Barron scored for Harvard from a foul. Greystone broke the tie and made their fourth goal in almost the last minute of play.
The summary: Score--Greystone, 4; Harvard, 3. Goals--Barron, Cullaton, Cundy, Haworth, Jennings, Phillips, Needham. Time--30-minute halves.
