Mr. George R. Agassiz '84 has made a gift of $25,000 for the general use of the Museum of Comparative Zoology; it is not to be used for anything connected with undergraduate instruction.
A gift of $10,000, by an anonymous friend, has been made to the University for the purpose of rebuilding the front, portion of the central section of the Gray Herbarium. This is the third gift to the Herbarium during the past year. The first, amounting to $25,000, came also from an anonymous donor and is being used to build and furnish the library, now consisting of 12,786 volumes and 10,015 pamphlets. The other gift, of $31,500, from George Robert White, a member of the Visiting Committee, is being devoted to the complete reconstruction and re-equipment of the laboratories. All of the latter buildings, the library and the laboratories, are now in use. Work will soon begin on the reconstruction of the central building.
