The Freshman baseball team was defeated by Hotchkiss at Lakeville, Conn.. Saturday afternoon in a poorly played game by the score of 10 to 3. The 1914 team found Watson invincible at critical stages while Hotchkiss had little difficulty in hitting both of the Freshman pitchers.
The features of the game were the home run by Bissel of Hotchkiss, Wingate's bunting and a stop of a hard hit grounder by Curtis in the seventh inning. The Freshmen supported the pitchers in poor fashion having nine errors. The score by innings: Batteries-1914: Sturgis. Buffum and Osborne; Hotchkiss: Watson and Loftus, Umpire, Jefferson.
