At a dinner held last evening at the Colonial Club, Professor Silas Marcus Macvane '73, who retires from the service of the University at the close of the present year, was presented with a silver tankard and tray, the gift of his 28 colleagues in the Division of History, Government, and Economics. Professor C. H. Haskins presided and the presentation was made by Professor F. W. Taussig. Professor Macvane has been a member of the University's teaching staff for 36 years.
